What is the Highland Rim Forest
The Western Highland Rim Forest in Tennessee covers 15,000sq km and is home to rare and endangered species. About 200 square miles of this Forest cradles Nashville from the south at Radnor lake, all along the western edge of Davidson County and up through Joelton.
This ecosystem plays a vital role in environmental health by filtering air and water, regulating water flow, and storing carbon. It provides natural resources like timber and products, but it’s endangered by deforestation, agriculture, and urbanization. Conserving it is important for ecological, economic, and cultural reasons. Conservation efforts will protect this irreplaceable ecosystem and secure its future for future generations.

Who Is "The Alliance?"
The Alliance to Conserve Nashville’s Highland Rim Forest is an informal group of organizations and individuals aligned around a common goal – to conserve Nashville’s emerald crown jewel – the Highland Rim Forest.
We are a 100% volunteer effort. Our goal is to conserve XXXX acres of the Forest by 2040.
We will do this by putting public pressure on the Metro, State and Federal governments to follow through with their already approved (and quite delayed) plans to conserve this important heritage forest.
Why Now?
Over the last several years, Nashville’s long range plans (NashvilleNext, ParkNPlay, Greenspace Plan). call for conserving the HIghland Rim Forest. But action isn’t being taken.
We’re calling on leaders to make good on the promises and to stick to the plan!
